Summary

LightForge’s Advanced Maya 3D Visual Effects Course is an intense 6-week program in 3D for visual effects productions. Environment TD’s create photo-real digital environments for high-end VFX applications.

Industry professionals will teach you the skills needed to operate as a shot-ready Environment TD. This will consist of full CG environment shots made by the artists to form part of an interview-ready showreel portfolio. Using a range of software, you will learn how to create realistic environments of your own. You will also learn how to work with other departments which is critical to success in this role.

The modern methods of being an environment TD rely on not just knowing Maya but knowing a raft of supporting software and plugins to achieve the vision of the client. On this course, you will be shown how to work within a team and to work autonomously to achieve great results. The design of the course will reflect the real-world industry experience including deadlines, reviews and client changes.

You will have out-of-class access to the facilities so, whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you can put in extra hours when needed. After the course, we’ll help you perfect your showreel, plan a fulfilling career path and find potential employers.

 

Our tutors have extensive industry experience and you’ll also be given support on your personal project and get feedback from a professional currently working in the VFX industry.

Entry Requirements

Aged 18 or over, a good understanding of written and spoken English. The course is designed as a post-12-week Maya 3D VFX bolt on.
